Johnny Depp is perhaps one of the most
versatile Hollywood actors of his generation whose portrayal of Captain
Jack Sparrow in the acclaimed Pirates of the Caribbean represents
only a small portion of his range.
Born June 9, 1963, Depp’s primary
personality traits are ruled by the Chinese Zodiac elemental animal
sign, the Water Rabbit. The Rabbit is usually somewhat detached. At
times the world can seem too harsh and intimidating for Depp. Though
highly successful now, Depp spent his early life as a rebel, and was
linked to vandalism and narcotics. He dropped out of school when he
was 15, and fronted a series of garage bands, including The Kids.
However, the Water Rabbit shows great
sensitivity and constantly promotes harmony. As for Depp, he is kind
and generous, almost to a fault, and it is easy to take advantage of
his generosity. He tends to be friendly and easygoing, a joy to be around.
It wouldn't be surprising if he were drawn to other artistic pursuits
beyond acting, either as an active participant, or as a connoisseur.
Although he has gained popularity ever
since his starring role in the successful Edward
Scissorhands, Depp’s international fame did not peak until his
portrayal of the suave, charming Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates
of the Caribbean. The film's enormous success has opened several
doors for his career, including an Oscar nomination. For 2009, he a
number of filming plans in the works, including The
Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Public Enemies,
Shantaram, and The Rum Diary. Chinese Astrology hopes these
movies will boost his career to even greater heights.
