Spring is here and so are fresh vegetables, beautiful flowers, and aromatic herbs. If you’re not already, I’ll be you’ll be spending a lot more time in the kitchen in the coming weeks. Cooking is a great creative outlet for your energy, but it’s important to make sure your kitchen is properly aligned with basic feng shui principles. Here are a few tips for making your space clean, functioning and full of vibrant energy:
-
Food. Food is energy, so make sure you buy organic and local whenever possible, as this kind of food has the most positive vibrations associated with it. Choose bright colored produce and stay away from too many packaged foods.
-
Clutter. Keep things as uncluttered as possible. You don’t want to have a million gadgets on the counters, as that takes away from the energy of the space.
-
Cleanliness. As in all aspects of feng shui, keep the kitchen clean for the best flow of energy. Wipe down counters, periodically clean out the fridge, and make sure your cupboards aren’t full of rotting food or stale stuff.
-
Colors. Yellow is a great color for feng shui in the kitchen. Get some yellow hand towels, plates, or a yellow mat for near the sink.
-
Lighting. The kitchen is a great place to use bright lighting. Also, make sure it’s well ventilated.
-
Other tips. Rotate your stove burners to ensure that you have an even flow of energy, keep sharp knives put away, and throw away broken, old, or worn-out pots and pans.
