Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen, nicknamed "The Boss", is an
American songwriter, singer and musician. He has recorded and toured with the E
Street Band and the Sessions Band. Springsteen is widely known for his brand of
heartland rock infused with pop hooks, poetic lyrics, and Americana sentiments
centered around his native New Jersey.
Springsteen's recordings have tended to alternate between commercially
accessible rock albums and somber folk-oriented works. Much of his status stems
from the concerts and marathon shows in which he and the E Street Band perform
intense ballads, rousing anthems, and party rock and roll songs, amongst which
he intersperses whimsical or deeply emotional stories.
He has earned numerous awards for his work, including nineteen Grammy
Awards, two Golden Globes and an Academy Award, and continues to have a strong
global fan base. He has sold more than 65 million albums in the United States
and 120 million worldwide.
Born September 23, 1949 his primary personality traits are ruled by the
Chinese Zodiac elemental animal, the Earth OX. The Ox combines the qualities
(steady, composed and tenacious) of the tortoise in the fabled race with the
hare and the legendary Hercules, strength of mind and body, solid throughout.
Combining Ox and Earth he gets Dilbert, the industrious engineer who is also a
shrewd judge of people and situations, a very practical person. He is most
likely not the cheerleader type, but his solid ability to manage finances and
make money, loyalty, devotion to loved ones and team members, and common sense
all contribute to making him desirable partners. He epitomizes the slow but
steady type that wins the race.
